In Vivo Efficacy Testing
Regulation EC 1223/2009 establishes the need to scientifically document the truthfulness of claims in order to protect the consumer. Neotron supports cosmetic companies with tailor made efficacy studies that can also be carried out through multi-disciplinary approaches.
These studies evaluate the effects of the product in vivo on a panel of healthy volunteers selected on the basis of the dermatological and / or trichological characteristics and the objectives of the study.
Instrumental Evaluation
In vivo instrumental evaluations allow the measurements of specific skin parameters and provide objective data to support the efficacy of the product. The study protocols are tailor made for product and marketing claim.
Self-Perception Evaluation
The functionality of the cosmetic product is evaluated by a panel of volunteers who express their opinion on the efficacy perceived during the use test. This efficacy derives from an elaboration, carried out by the subject, of the sensory and emotional stimuli induced by the product and from a self-assessment of the benefits reported. This approach is useful to enhance the results of instrumental tests and to support claims that are difficult to measure instrumentally (velvet, silky effect, etc.).
Clinical Evaluation
The clinical evaluation of specific skin parameters carried out by a dermatologist allows to record, through scores, the condition of the skin before and after treatment.
Sniff Test
This test is carried out through the involvement of a panel of trained assessors in sensory analysis to quantitatively evaluate the intensity of human underarm odor in order to evaluate the deodorant efficacy of personal care products.
